One of my Twitter friends and favourite bloggers @Igor Josif of Happy Interior Blog recently pointed out to me that it has been a while since I last posted some wallpaper. And you know what? He was right. I used to regularly post wallpaper as it is one of my very favourite interiors products and is also the top search term that people use to find my blog. So I decided that I would need to rectify this situation by finding more great wallpapers to share with you.
That was when I found these lovely wallpapers from Barneby Gates. The company was founded by ex Vogue Living Editor, Vanessa Barneby, and artist Alice Gates, both of whom studied at Edinburgh University. The pair design all of their own wallpapers and get them printed at one of the few remaining print works in the Midlands that use traditional printing techniques. Using a variety of printing techniques including surface printing, flexographic printing, and gravure printing, Barneby Gates creates absolutely beautiful papers that are elegant, charming, enchanting and of course very pretty. I’m sure you’ll agree.
I particularly like these two papers that were launched at Decorex last year. Chairs features a hand-drawn collection of some of our favourite chairs – from antique Chippendales, Louis XVs and Windsors, to mid-century beauties by Norman Cherner, and modern classics by Philippe Starck.
Horse Trellis is the company’s first geometric print and features rearing horses linked by triple bars. I suggest you get yourself straight over to the Barneby Gates website to check out the rest of the beauties that make up their collection.
I absolutely love the Chairs wallpaper! Am envisioning for my new house, excited!
