In my youth I used to love everything that could be described as dark or edgy, but I must say the older I have become the less attracted I am to these kinds of things. It’s not that I like them any less, it’s just that I don’t feel the need to surround myself with these things any more.
Nevertheless the Doodle sofa designed by Front for Moroso still caught my eye. Whilst I wouldn’t have it in my house I still think it is pretty impressive and would look great in the right setting. But what I think I like most about this sofa is not necessarily the finished product, but more the design process that was used to achieve it.
All three members of Front used doodles they had made during design meetings to create the sofa’s pattern. The decoration is a kind of by-product of Front’s creative process, inscribed onto the folded half circle of the sofa’s form. Genius! What do you guys think?
I would love to run my hand along it, interesting texture for a sofa and looks good to. My 19 daughter loves it!
Well written post. Looking forward for more posts like this.
I absolutely adore the texture on this fab sofa. I don’t think I would have it in my house either but I can certainly see it in a hospitality project.
