Scandinavian design has long been one of my favourite decorating styles for the home. There is just something about how our Nordic friends choose to live that I find so calming and serene. I think it has something to do with the minimalist, pared-back style and the use of muted, earthy tones and honest materials that makes Scandinavian homes feel like a retreat of some kind.
The understated elegance and warm functionality really do take a back seat and let the lives of the people who live there take centre stage. But sometimes I do look at Scandinavian interiors, often with their overwhelming use of white, and wonder if they couldn’t perhaps do with a pop of colour here and there to add a little more personality and happiness to the home.
Don’t get me wrong, I love minimal, natural interiors, but just recently I’ve been discovering a new-found love of colour and I am trying to incorporate into my own home as much as I possibly dare. And that is one thing I really like about the Scandi Pop Kitchen event that is currently running over at Joss & Main.
Joss & Main is a members-only flash sale site that offers great discounts on some lovely home and lifestyle products. They got in touch a few weeks ago and asked if I would like to curate my list of top picks from one of their up-coming events. Why not I thought and I was delighted to be told that the event was a Scandi Pop Kitchen themed event.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but when I saw the range of products on offer I was very pleasantly surprised. There was an array of lovely pieces all popping with brilliant colour from pale pastels to brilliant brights and zesty neons. Not for the faint hearted by very, very pretty and a really great way to infuse some colour into your kitchen in a semi-permanent way.
If, like me, you have been a bit scared of going big on colour at home, using bright accessories is a much safer way to use colour without taking the risk of investing in more permanent pieces such as brightly coloured furniture or tiles. They can be changed at the drop of hat to create a whole new look too. Here in this post you can see some of my favourite pieces from the event. From stackable ombre cups to pretty pastel storage and so much more in between, the Scandi Pop Kitchen event is bursting with gorgeous colourful pieces for your home.
As Joss & Main is a members-only site you need to sign up to view the events but it’s definitely worth taking the time to do so. There are events covering every interior style imaginable and there is something there for every taste. It’s quick and easy to sign up and once you’ve done so you’ll be able to take a peek at my top picks from the Scandi Pop Kitchen event. So what are you waiting for?
