What is the one thing I love about interior design more than anything? What do I always harp on and on about? I know you know the answer to this! It’s WALLPAPER of course!!! My one true interior design love. I just can’t get enough of it. So imagine my excitement today when I spotted an article over on The Cool Hunter all about wallpaper for the outdoors. Yes you did hear that right, some genius has only gone and invented a wallpaper that can be applied to the exterior of a building.

Wall & Deco is an Italian company that specializes in wallpaper for use in residential and commercial interiors. This particular paper is called OUT which stands for Outdoor Unconventional Texture and it is sure to be a hit with architects and designers who are seeking to bring the character of their buildings to life and add a more visual element to their creations.

Sadly there is practically no information on the website that will provide any insight into how this wallpaper works, what it is made of or if there are any constraints. All those technical questions that obviously spring to mind therefore remain unanswered. All that we have are a series of beautiful images of what buildings could look like when using OUT.

My favourite has got to be the very first image of the paper that is called Tokio Stripes. But I’d love to know what you think of this concept and which of the papers is your favourite. Please let me know in the comments or tweet me @StaceyJSheppard

  • I love this idea so so much!! The geoemtric prints are stunning, but all of the outdoor wallpaper looks incredible. I just wish I had a space big enough to display it to its full effect! Amazing find!

    • It’s gorgeous isn’t it Beth? Really effective, but like you say you need a decent area to use it to its full potential.

  • Outdoor wallpaper?? Seriously, I’ve never heard of it, Stacey! Your blog is always such a great source to discover absolutely new and unexpected finds!

    • Thanks Igor! I do try my best. I just wish I knew more info about this and how exactly it works. Not very helpful when the sites don’t explain their products.

  • This is incredible – I would love to see the neighboring 10 story building be dressed in one of these :D That would definitely change my mood every time I look out the window.

    • Aren’t they fabulous Hannah? Image a building done out with your walls inside and this outside! What a stunner that would be!

  • I like them all. i’d LOVE to see a few of my geometric abstractions as outdoor wall paper on a building

    • I agree Marcus, how much more interesting would a neighbourhood look if the buildings were personalised like this? That wooden one is one of my favourites too as you could have an entirely modern building made to look all old and rustic.

      • I love this, is such a clever idea, amazing, and on a much smaller scale this would provide an amazing feature wall in a small garden. my mind is going mad with all the possibilities.. great blog post, thanks

        • Very true Andrea, one of these walls would be great in a garden. What a statement that would make!
