The John Lewis Home Studio team recently announced three key home furnishing trends for autumn/winter 2012. My favourite of these trends is the Home Comforts range, which sees nostalgic colours and shapes from bygone eras bringing warmth and cheer to home interiors. What makes the range so appealing is that the products feel familiar and cosy due to the materials used and the textures that have been chosen. I rather think they have quite an industrial feel to them maybe combined with a homely Nordic influence.

The colour palette of the range features retro colours like midnight blue, Winchester green and reborn red. These cosy colours are used for furniture accent pieces like this Thomas in Hound armchair in Dachshund red, which makes you want to snuggle up with a good book and a cup of tea. I also really love that retro telephone and think I may need to invest in one for my house!

There are so many lovely little accessories that you can use to give your house a homely feel. I love the mix of metal, wood and ceramics that this range offers. How cute is that little bicycle below? And I love that metal travellers trunk, what a novel idea for storage!

The Home Comforts range also features a multitude of products for the kitchen which have been given a quirky, modern twist. Oxford blue, citrine and vintage coral highlights bring a cheery feeling into the kitchen, which stills feels a little on the traditional side despite the modern interpretation of many of the products.

What do you guys reckon? Do you like this A/W 2012 trend from John Lewis? Which piece is your favourite?
