The Beautiful Creations of Hend Krichen

I can’t quite remember where I first spotted the exquisite designs of Hend Krichen but I knew I would never forget them. The ‘Tunisia Made’ collection is aย series of luxury homewares, designed using Tunisiaโ€™s rich artisanal skills and craftsmanship. Based in London, Hend creates the most wonderful timeless objects designed to enrich people’s everyday lives and I can say in all certainty that if I were to own one of these beautiful vessels my life would definitely be enriched!ย

The pieces are made in Tunisia in various parts of the country, but mainly in rural towns, and this has meant that Hend is able to harness the rich variety and authenticity of the crafts manufacturing platform throughout Tunisia. On the flip side though it has also created an ethical network of manufacturers who have been provided with jobs and an opportunity to develop, grow, and sell their goodsย internationally.

The pieces are made from Tunisian ceramic and spun copper that is etched by hand. The raw and natural form that the materials are used in reveals the countryโ€™s identity and showcases Tunisiaโ€™s available natural resources.

I just love these pieces and they are a perfect way to integrate the current trend for copper in interiors don’t you think?

    • They range from ยฃ60 to ยฃ190 Louise. Which I think is actually quite reasonably as they are extremely beautiful! Please do go ahead and blog about them too. People need to know about the wonderful work of Hend Krichen!

  • I agree, Stacey! These beautiful containers would certainly have a place in my home. The crisp, modern take on a traditional Tunisian earthenware pot is very attractive. Love the warmth of the combined materials and delicate decoration in the copper, too :) Thanks for introducing this designer.
