As most of you will know by now, I recently started writing for Freshome, one of the biggest and best home interior and residential architecture blogs on the web. Luckily for me that means that my work is read by a far greater audience than I can reach with my own blog. With that in mind I decided it might be a good idea to write some articles that would help the readers out in more practical ways, especially those readers that make a living from design, in all its forms and guises.
One of the issues I decided to tackle was how designers can protect their work from design thieves. Obviously I am no expert in this matter, but I certainly knew someone who is! Dids Macdonald is the founder and CEO of an organisation called ACID (Anti Copying in Design) and what she doesn’t know about copying in design, and more to the point protecting yourself from copying in design, really isn’t worth knowing.
So if you think you would like to learn how you can best protect your design work from being copied then head on over to Freshome and have a read. And don’t forget to leave a comment if you have had any experience with copying in design or any particular tactics you can share for protecting your work. We would love to get people talking about this important topic and sharing their thoughts!
