One thing I love about the new year is looking at all the new trends that we can expect to see on the market and the new home collections that will allow us to give our homes a fresh new look next season. One collection that caught my eye is this lovely lifestyle collection created by the in-house design team at Sainsbury’s. The Sainsbury’s SS14 Home & Lifestyle Collection introduces five trends – Bohemian Boho Chic, nature inspired Botanical Gardens, kitsch English Vintage, paired back Honest Artisan and nostalgic Memory Lane. The new collection combines high-street style and supermarket prices so it should provide us with new looks that won’t break the bank. Read on to discover the five trends and find out what Emma Mann, Head of Home Design at Sainsbury’s has to say about them.
Raw materials such as linen, cotton and wood are key for the Refined Rustic look. With its muted palette of crisp white and putty shades paired with accents of smoke blue and blackboard, Refined Rustic can be mixed and matched to create an easy relaxed, simple look.
Introducing a playful look to the home, Memory Lane evokes a sense of childhood nostalgia with its pastel palette of lemon zest, strawberry pink, pistachio and baby blue across polka dots, gingham and kitsch florals.
Fresh and feminine, the Botanical Gardens trend breathes new life into the home, taking inspiration from blooms, butterflies and bird studies. Tranquil shades of apple, fern and teal with purple accents paired with dark wood create an organic look for the home.
Taking inspiration from Moorish and Moroccan interiors, this collection encapsulates a relaxed Bohemian retreat with its sumptuous embellished textiles, detailed home accessories and chunky white china finished with a subtle geometric print.
Fall in love with this fresh take on a timeless elegant look. With a nod to home-spun style, this trend features painterly floral textiles and home accessories in milky hues and lilac tones to bring a gentle pop of colour to the home.
I’d love to know which if these trends is your personal favourite so please do let me know.
